spring is everywhere!

Spring is in the air! I have been dedicating a lot of time and thoughts to trust. Between lining up summer events, restocking shops, researching and creating...I am knees deep.

There is a lot of exciting new things happening for trust! The South Shore Living Magazine article came out...I am on the trends page of the April Issue...

I just recently stocked up Crush Boutique on Newbury St, Boston and will be planning a summer trunk show soon.

Trust will be in two weddings in the fall...how exciting!

A Martha's Vineyard and Portland, ME business trip (and play!) are in the works...

Also...Trust is going to California! I have been dreaming about being out West more recently than usual...

LOFT 1513 in San Francisco will now be carrying trust! I will be sending a package this week to San Francisco and LA and I might just climb inside the package myself and be on my way to the warm California sun...

Do What You Love

The winter blues has officially set in for me and everyone around me...snowstorms on snowstorms on snowstorms. Looking forward to the summer...warm weather and flip flops, beach days and bikinis. Trust is everywhere. It's a good thing I have my friends to help me...sometimes I wonder what I would do without them.Shout out to all my trust babes. I was recently contacted by Jacqui from South Shore Living Magazine. Jacqui came across trust's website and asked if I would like to be featured in the April issue on the trends page. So exciting! I did a photo shoot with @BriannaDitocco and her fancy camera. It was a relaxing evening of drinking tea and laughing...always a good end to the day. A close vineyard friend, @Guinevere Cramer, blogs for Point b Realty, contacted me close to Valentine's Day. She is a beautiful woman and mother who is truly inspiring. Gwennie posted about Trust Love, a line of heart keys, love inspired the week of Valentine's Day. Check it out... Nemo put everyone out of commission for an entire weekend. I couldn't have asked for more...well maybe some electricity and water. I was cozy with a blanket, tea and a fire. It was actually just what I needed...I was able to make my annual homemade valentine's that I was afraid I would not have got to this year. I also hammered out some new designs and was diligently working on "jewelz" all weekend. Crush Boutique on Newbury St. in Boston is now stocked up as well as Common Era out West. Spring shows are lining up...slowly, but surely. trust recently was accepted to participate in Brewster in Bloom which I am really excited about! A rough design aka my sketch of trust's new logo is up...@AbbyMaker only the best graphic designer on the east coast will be perfecting it!! We have also been brainstorming new packaging as we all know I am a sucker for packaging. Another shout out to @MichelleMosesso, a best friend but also a...INTERN!! Too funny. Michelle is finishing up her senior year at the Art Institute in Boston and focusing her final project on Trust. I couldn't be happier to have her help me. We have professional meetings that go on for hours as we get side tracked and laugh which I love. Michelle is so talented and has some awesome ideas...it's been really cool to explore how friends look at trust. We have a look book in the works and also a photo shoot coming up! All in all...I have some friends that i'd say are keepers. They're awesome and I appreciate them so much. Winter has been slow but as expected. I have been slacking on the blog, per usual... my girls representing trust!

back again my friends

The holidays are coming! So is the new blogging...how fast a year can go by. Back at it again. Sorry it was so long.

Summer of the vineyard with the Trust collection was a success! I've been receiving some really great feedback about the new website. www.tanyarust.com. Fashion week, citrine and trunk shows were the bulk of summer 2012. I did start selling in a new shop on island Slip77. Those girls rock. I am excited about the new bullet collection too...invented this summer you could say.

I took a trip back a few weekends ago to stock up Citrine and enjoy the beautiful place. It will always be such a special place to me. I miss it. Plus Devin was out from L.A. which made the trip 100%. I am going back next week...doing a little girls night jewelry show with my vineyard girls. YAY! Love those girls.

I've been working around the clock for holiday trunk shows and artisans fairs...and apparently totally neglecting my blog.

Second Annual Antique Key Jewelry Party

I am hosting my second annual holiday jewelry party! It will be at my house December 1 at 6:30. We will be having holiday apps and drinks. I have a lot of new additions coming including leather bracelets, new button bobby pins, and earrings. Got lots of new keys too! I have been working away trying to make five pieces a day until the party. Last year, I nearly sold out! Hopefully it is as good this year.

I went to Greek Islands for a week to visit a friend, Susie. It was beautiful. The water was so blue and the hues of it were so rich...I still cannot get over it.The tourist season was ending over there so everything was on euro sale! I got some cool scarves and earrings! Also lots of evil eyes...of course!

I am ending my last semester at college. I just submitted my forms to graduate today. It sounds and feels crazy!

Fashion Week Martha's Vineyard

Have been away for far too long. Busy Summer of Martha's Vineyard. I was honored to work with Emma and the Citrine girls on Fashion Week. It was a long, tiring week but totally enjoyed it!

We started early Tuesday morning fitting all of our models in their outfits. I then designed jewelry for a large portion of the day to fit their outfits. Citrine models rocking Antique Key Jewelry in the fashion show...pretty sweet! I did a lot of work with funkier pieces to fit the wardrobe theme. I used large bold keys for statement pieces that hung long on a chain. I used pieces of leather cut into triangles and random shapes as well as chunky turquoise stones and old coins that I drilled. Also made so many leather cuffs for the models arms that I never want to make one again! At least for a while...

Wednesday was the show! I last minute got thrown in as a Citrine model as one of our girls bailed! Funny...I am so NOT a model! I had a fun time getting my hair did and make up did at Sea Scape Spa in Edgartown...Classy, right? We had this messy, teased updos that we rocked with leather pieces and braids and all sorts of funky stuff! Most of our outfits had Fisherman's Daughter accessories which are organic cotton striped leg warmers, arm warmers and scarves. We tied the funkiness of her work in with our hair. The show went amazing! So many awesome local designers, island photographers, and beautiful work and models...it was a success!

Thursday at Citrine we had a Trunk Show for Fisherman's Daughter and other local designers...including myself! We set up a display where Taylor (who is THE fisherman's daughter) was shown first. She was kind of our star this week :) Then as you walked further into the shop, us other designers were set up too! The trunk show was a perfect way to finish Fashion Week. Many people came in Thursday to check out our looks from the show the night before which was just what we wanted! The best part is Taylor and I did a trade. I got a new pair of organic cotton arm warmers/gloves and she got one of my key necklaces! Love trading...

When it is all said and done...Fashion Week Martha's Vineyard totally rocked!

Button Craze

It has been too long...too much craziness going on. Lazy days with a book and cup of tea on the porch seem so distant, I forget what they feel like.I am off to move to Martha's Vineyard again tomorrow.Looking forward to summer on island.

I have started using those vintage buttons I mentioned in my creations. Button Stud earrings and Button Bobby pins have been a hit! I had a trunk show with my jewelry a few weeks back and it went really well. I also set up at a Women's Social Event @ SeaDog Brew Pub in Hull. Thanks to EmilyRose! I have been making progress with the line, got a website coming and Etsy going. Started selling on consignment at Bridgewater Art and Custom Framing in Bridgewater, MA next to town hall! The future looks like summer with Citrine and some fall/holiday shows next season. Will post exact show/dates.

I went to an Antique Market, Brimfeild last week and got a LOT of keys. Literally, a "lot." My eye has been out for mini keys...they make simple pieces and new leather bracelets! Pictures will be coming soon. So for now, I am pretty stocked with inventory for summer but will have to keep my hands busy for next season.

Bee Well.

This and That

Have been away for a while enjoying the winter sun. Not really, I was in New Zealand for a month enjoying the pacific!! I am loving the snow now as everyone else is sick of it.Cup of T has been lacking. I was at the Nelson Markets, on the South Island of NZ and found a flattened, rounded NZ coin as a ring. I had to get it, its my newest and coolest.Came across some pretty awesome key holes at the cathedral in Christchurch, NZ.Went wild with photos.
I started selling some "Antique Key Jewelry" on etsy. Check it out. Also,I started collecting up some vintage buttons and now have an entire slew of them. I am thinking stud button earrings?!
I took a walk on sagamore beach the other day. One of my favorite places, that beach. I was bundled for sure but it was peaceful. Soldiering through the semester, anxious about my next small, spring trip to NYC. Will be a good time! Black and White photogs & Brooklyn Bridge, yay.

Going to visit Martha's Vineyard this weekend, hit up my favorite shop, Citrine...oh how i've missed you.
